Bogus Air Ambulance Charity Bag Collection

C.Cllr Ould informed members of items of interest from the County council including the fact that there was a bogus charity collection being made in the name of the Air Ambulance and that this firm was being investigated.

Breedon on the Hill

The court case between LCC and Breedon on the Hill community group has concluded and the judge had no criticism of the county council and ruled in their favour.  Breedon Community group are to appeal this decision.

Recreation Park

Ten new fencing panels have now been erected around the Hard Surface play area and L.Moore raised the question of supplying a further two new fencing panels next year.  This will be looked at in the future.

Tennis net cables have now been obtained and also paint to renew the line markings.

Fittings have also been attached to camera posts to prevent vandalism.

Allotment Bonfires

The Borough had contacted the parish as they had received a complaint again with regard to fires burning all night at the allotments and M.Brotherhood had also received complaints.  The Clerk has spoken to one of the tenants in the hope this can be sorted out.

Barlestone in Bloom

David Reid last month resigned from the running of the ‘Barlestone in Bloom’ competition and it was felt that perhaps BOCA would like to take it on with the sponsorship continuing from the Parish Council but at their meeting it was decided that they did not wish to do so.

Everyone was disappointed that the competition will not continue but the Chairman went on to thank David Reid for all his hard work over the past few years judging the competition.
